One of the things I'm most excited about with Akashic Nodes: The Home of Memory is the anthology format. Each chapter is written and illustrated by a different pair of writers and artists. This allows us to present a variety of styles.

Below are two pieces from the book. The first is “Dramojh Rage” by Bradley McDevitt. Brad is an old-school artist; one look at his work and I’m instantly transported to some midnight session of AD&D at my cousin’s house 20 years ago. The second is a portrait, by Sergio Isaza, of Kraalis, a character from the adventure “The Fading of All Things.” Sergio’s one of my new favorite artists; his work has a more lyrical, almost dream-like quality I’m really into right now.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about the use of contrasting art styles in a book. Head on over to our message boards and let us know.
